The Askim Red Cross Youth Leader and I established the youth initiative in May 2019 and started the work to get it up and running. In the fall of 2019, we had recruited volunteers and youths, and had our first activity.

CISV is a politically and religiously independent international organization dedicated to peace education for children aged 11 and above. It provides personal experiences in cross-cultural communication and collaboration at local, national, and international levels. I have been involved with CISV since my early teens, and in 2012, I volunteered as a kitchen assistant for an international summer camp in Oslo.​​
